Innovation Studio Seed Fund

The Innovation Studio Seed Fund is dedicated to fostering the creative ambitions of RCS students and staff by providing seed funding to shape new and existing ideas. This funding helps to create space for play, experimentation, and innovation – where trying, failing, and refining concepts are all part of the journey.

All current RCS students and members of staff are eligible to apply.
Seed Fund opens: Tuesday 28 April 2026.
Application deadline: Wednesday 3 June 2026 at 17:00.
Applicants will be notified of a decision by email within 6 weeks of the
application deadline.
Projects must be completed within 12 months of commencement.
For the Spring 2026 Round, a total of £20,000 of funding is available in two schemes:

Up to £1,000

For very early-stage ideas and concepts.

Up to £4,000

For projects that have already begun initial development.

To ensure that the Seed Fund is accessible to all, a dedicated award is available to support accessibility requirements of successful applicants and their collaborators.

Support Sessions

Come along to our relaxed drop-in sessions to learn more about the Seed Fund and application process.

These sessions are a safe space to ask questions, get feedback on your proposal, and receive guidance on budgets from the Innovation Studio team.

Open to all, whether you're applying for the first time, resubmitting an earlier idea, or looking for follow-on funding. We're here to support you! Refreshments will be provided.
